· Insulate pipes exposed to the cold or located on outside walls to protect them from freezing.
· Wrap “problem area” pipes with electric heat tape to prevent freezing. Make sure the heat tape is in good repair to prevent shorts and fires and be sure the heat tape has been plugged in.
· Open the doors of your sink base cabinet in order to allow warm air to reach water pipes
· Don’t leave water dripping as it wastes the water, raise your water bill significantly and can damage the septic system
2008 Budget approved
A proposed budget for 2008 was approved by the IHWD board at the November meeting . You may see a copy of the budget at the office during business hours 9:am—noon Monday—Friday.
WATER TAPS. . .
Two water taps will be awarded in 2008.
A tap for undeveloped land is $20,000 and for an existing residence remains at $15,000. As in the past, hardships are given priority. Contact Diana for information and application.

The Indian Hills Water District welcomes Mr. Steve Hosie as it’s newest Board Member.
Steve was born in Oregon, “growing up between the mountains and the ocean” . He served 7 years as a US Marine, where he was awarded numerous medals and honors. While in the Marine Corps Steve lived in many states and traveled the world.
Upon being honorably discharged from the Marines Steve has worked in the Information Assurance field. This involves many aspects of information security and protection of assets.
Steve currently lives with his new wife of 3 months on Moqui Rd. Steve has lived in Indian Hills for almost 2 years.
We are pleased that Steve has volunteered his time and expertise to our community.
